Christmas Mind Reading Toys
| Nov 3, 2009 I'm not much of a newspaper
reader anymore because of the left leaning biases in many of the
stories, but I do tend to clip a few coupons and peruse what's on
sale in the shopping ads. This past week I came across the Big Toy
Book from a leading toy store. It's actually a thin magazine of
toys, and a far cry from the the big thick Christmas catalogs of
yesteryear from Sears and JCPenny that I used to wait anxiously for
with my siblings every year. Well enough about nostalgia. While
paging through this years offerings for good little boys and girls,
a few of the toys popped out at me as to say where have I been?
These toys were labeled mind control games. The happy little boy was
hooked up to a sensory device that snuggly fit over his cranial hard
drive. Without actually knowing how this works, I'm guessing that
the boys thought patterns sends out a signal which is received at
the main playing surface of the game causing a ball or whatever to
move. Technology has sure come a ways since I was young, and to many
of you readers would say I am just a hatchling. Now most of you will
say this is innocent fun, and I might agree with you, but all
innocents eventually turns into hungrily searching for new ways to
envelope technology into everyday society. Of course the government
has has this technology for sometime, and now its finding its way
into mainstream society. As with all things that seem to start out
as beneficial, in time turn against the user and demand unfettered
attention. How many of you, can live without your cell
phones/blackberry's? Are we teaching our young children to tap into
the mind and unleash new skills that can be used in mind reading?
Will the government use this technology to bind its people into
submission, by knowing our thoughts? Unfortunately control is the
most sought after vice of those who have everything. Ask a
politician, never mind they wouldn't tell you the truth.
